RSV Fast Shutting Gate Valve
RSV quick-closing slide valves prevent the propagation of explosions from dust, gas, or mixed mixtures by blocking the blast wave and flame front. These are active valves that close within milliseconds upon activation by a spark or explosion detector.
RSV valves are used in various industrial processes and typically protect dryers, mills, filters, cyclones, and pneumatic transport lines with high dust loads. The RSV version also meets the highest hygiene requirements for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Operating Principle
When triggered by a spark or explosion detector, the RSV fast-acting gate valve closes within milliseconds, effectively isolating the flame front and shock wave. Its rapid closing mechanism and robust design prevent the propagation of dust, gas, or hybrid mixture explosions through pipelines and process equipment — without causing a pressure drop or interrupting material flow during normal operation.
