RINGSPANN SAFETY COUPLINGS

One of the main dangers for mechanisms is loads that exceed the nominal values. These loads are often difficult to predict and can lead to equipment failure, especially at the junctions of components. When standard locking devices are unable to provide adequate safety, so-called safety couplings, also known as torque limiters, are used.

These couplings serve multiple functions: on one hand, they act as connecting elements, and on the other, they limit the transmission of torque, allowing it to be transmitted only up to certain values. In this way, they protect the mechanism from overloads and damage.

Reliability and Safety of Equipment

The operation principle of the couplings offered by Ringspann is based on the fact that under certain loads, the connected parts of the coupling begin to slip or disengage and "click" (in the case of roller, ball, or cam types). When disengagement occurs, you receive an audible signal indicating that safe load limits have been exceeded. When the load returns to acceptable levels, the spring-loaded components re-engage, and the coupling resumes normal operation.
